Toyota Motor Corporation announced on February 28, 2024, that it has decided to resume production on March 4, 2024, at its domestic production plants, Inabe Line 1 and Gifu Body Line 1, which had been suspended due to Toyota Industries Corporation’s diesel engine fraud scandal.
Production resumed after the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism lifted the shipping suspension.
On February 27, 2024, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism announced that it would lift the suspension on shipments of diesel engines manufactured by Toyota Industries Corporation. In response to this, Toyota Motor Corporation will receive engine supplies from Toyota Industries Corporation and resume production on the following two lines from March 4, 2024.
- Toyota Auto Body Inabe Plant Line 1
- Gifu Body Industry Head Office Factory Line 1
Resuming production at all domestic factories and shipping vehicles
With this resumption of production, Toyota has resumed production at all of its domestic plants. In addition, shipments of the following vehicles for domestic use have also resumed.
