Maserati has unveiled the GranCabrio, a new open-top version of the GranTurismo , which will be launched in 2022. This 2+2-seater convertible will first be available as a Trofeo model equipped with a powerful Nettuno V6 engine, with an electric Folgore version due to follow in the near future.
Maserati GranCabrio: Beautiful design and comfortable open air
The GranCabrio gives an even sexier impression than the previous coupe model, the GranTurismo . Its greatest feature is its fabric roof, which can be opened or closed using the infotainment display or gesture controls. It can be opened or closed in just 14 seconds while driving at speeds up to 50 km/h. The soft top, which has excellent sound and heat insulation, allows for comfortable open-air cruising. Five colors are available: black, blue marine, titan gray, greige, and garnet. While most of the bodywork is the same as the GranTurismo, the rear deck has been redesigned to create a more beautiful design.

Maserati GranCabrio: Comfortable and elegant interior
The 2+2 interior is the same as the GranTurismo. It consists of a digital cockpit with a 12.2-inch instrument cluster, an optional head-up display, a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen, and another 8.8-inch touchscreen for climate control. It also features a Sonus Faber audio system with 13 speakers as standard, or up to 16 speakers in an optional 1,060W configuration.

Maserati equips the GranCabrio with standard neck warmers that offer three levels of strength for the driver and passenger , and also offers an optional windstopper to reduce turbulence inside the cabin, although this is of limited use in the two-seater configuration.
About the Maserati GranCabrio powertrain
Powerful V6 engine
The initial Trofeo model is powered by a twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6 Nettuno engine producing 542 hp (405 kW/550 PS) and 650 Nm of torque, mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission and driving the rear wheels. Performance is slightly impacted compared to the coupe due to a 100 kg weight penalty. As a result, the car accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.6 seconds and has a top speed of 316 km/h.
An EV model will also be released in the future
In the future, a model with a V6 engine with a maximum output of 483 hp (490 PS / 360 kW) and a maximum torque of 443 lb-ft (600 Nm) will also be released, as well as an electric vehicle model called the “Folgore” with a maximum output of 751 hp (761 PS / 560 kW).
