It shares its foundation with the new generation BMW entry-level SUV, the X1. The adoption of a new platform allows for a larger body size and improved comfort, while incorporating the latest design and technology. It is one of the first mass-produced models to adopt Mini’s new design language, known as “charismatic simplicity.”

The new BMW MINI Countryman measures 4,445mm long, 1,845mm wide, 1,660mm high, and has a wheelbase of 2,690mm. While the core styling elements of the previous model remain, the bodywork has undergone significant evolution, with fewer curves and sharper lines. The new face, mostly body-colored, features a larger octagonal grille. The small LED headlights have lost their bulbous shape and are positioned higher than before. New 17-inch or 20-inch aluminum wheels are available. There’s an extended rear overhang, flush door handles, and boxy fenders with thin plastic cladding around the wheel arches. At the rear, the slimmer matrix LED taillights continue to display Mini’s signature Union Jack graphic, and the rear spoiler is more prominent.

Fewer buttons, woven surfaces, and the latest technology make everything look simpler than previous Minis. The dashboard features a circular OLED touchscreen as the centerpiece, featuring digital gauges and a larger infotainment system. The central display is a 9.4-inch circular OLED screen that doubles as the infotainment touchscreen and digital instrument cluster. It runs on the Android-based MINI Operating System 9 and employs the latest AI technologies. It integrates an AI-based virtual assistant called Spike. It offers the latest powertrains and an all-electric version instead of a plug-in hybrid. An optional head-up display is available. The center console features a toggle bar with five switches dedicated to the most important functions (parking brake, gear selector, start/stop key, experience mode selector, and volume knob), while the climate control is integrated into the touchscreen.
