Subaru has announced the WRX Club Spec Edition, a special edition vehicle limited to 150 units for the Australian market. This model is based on the US-spec WRX TR and features a large rear wing reminiscent of the STI era. This limited edition vehicle is being released to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the WRX nameplate in Australia. However, Subaru Australia Managing Director Blair Reid said this is “one of the celebrations,” suggesting that more WRX-related news may be announced by the end of 2024.

The Club Spec model is fitted with the same 19-inch wheels as the TR, fitted with Bridgestone Potenza S007 tyres (245/35 R19), red brake calipers and Recaro seats. Additionally, the Australian version is fitted with a fixed rear wing exclusive to the Club Spec model, which is not available on the rest of the WRX range.

Like the North American TR, the Australian Club Spec also gets Brembo brakes with larger 340mm front and 326mm rear discs. What’s still unclear is whether it will get the TR’s chassis upgrades (stiffer springs, new dampers, revised steering rack).

Despite its more aggressive appearance, the turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine is the same as the standard WRX, producing 271 hp (202 kW/275 PS) and 350 Nm of torque. Power is sent to all four wheels exclusively through a six-speed manual gearbox, with the help of Subaru’s Symmetrical AWD system. The CVT Lineartronic is not available in Club Spec.
