On March 6, 2024, the Japan Automobile Dealers Association (JADA) and the All Japan Light Motor Vehicle Association (AJMCA) announced the February 2024 sales figures for passenger cars by model and light four-wheeled vehicle (KM) sales by common name. The top light vehicle was the N-BOX, with 16,542 units sold. Daihatsu cars have finally fallen out of the top 10 in this ranking.
Passenger car ranking
Among passenger cars, the Toyota Corolla took the lead with 14,841 units sold. In second place was the Toyota Yaris with 12,495 units sold, and in third place was the Nissan Note with 10,010 units sold. All three cars sold over 10,000 units.

Light car ranking
In the minicar category, the Honda N-BOX took the top spot with 16,542 units sold. In second place was the Suzuki Spacia with 15,066 units sold, and in third place was the Suzuki Hustler with 8,990 units sold . Although it is a regular in the minicar rankings , Daihatsu has dropped out of the top 10 due to the suspension of sales following its fraud scandal . Incidentally, in 12th place was the Daihatsu Tanto with 1,963 units sold.
