Volkswagen unveiled the ID.7 GTX Tourer, a sports model of BEV (battery electric vehicle), for the first time in the world on March 13, 2024 (local time).
About the Volkswagen battery EV “ID.7 GTX Tourer”
The new ID.7 GTX Tourer is a more powerful and sporty electric wagon than the standard model. The main difference between the ID.7 GTX Tourer and the standard ID.7 Tourer is the powertrain. This model is powered by an 86 kWh lithium-ion battery, which supports charging speeds of up to 200 kW on fast chargers, allowing it to charge from 10 to 80 percent in less than 30 minutes. This battery powers two of the most powerful electric motors ever made. The front and rear motors combine to produce a total output of 335 hp (250 kW), a significant increase of 54 hp (40 kW) compared to the standard rear-wheel-drive ID.7 Tourer Pro. The front electric motor begins operating within seconds, depending on power requirements and driving scenario. Power is delivered via an electronic differential lock and all-wheel drive. VW did not disclose acceleration figures, but the top speed is listed as 180 km/h. It features a sporty progressive steering system, stronger stabilizers, and an optional adaptive chassis control system and ESC sport mode.
