Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. announced “The Arc,” a new management plan to enhance the company’s value and competitiveness. The plan, which consists of new vehicle launches, promotion of electrification, innovation in development and production methods, adoption of new technologies, and strategic partnerships, aims to increase sales and profitability.
Nissan Motor’s Management Plan “The Arc”
This plan serves as a bridge between the “Nissan NEXT” business restructuring initiative, which is being implemented from fiscal 2020 to fiscal 2023, and the “Nissan Ambition 2030” long-term vision, and consists of a mid-term initiative covering fiscal 2024 to fiscal 2026, and a mid- to long-term initiative covering up to 2030. Nissan will first increase sales volume through strategies optimized for each region, and will accelerate the transition to EVs through a balanced portfolio of electric and internal combustion engine vehicles, increased sales in key markets, and strict financial discipline. Nissan also aims to increase annual sales by 1 million units and raise its operating profit margin to over 6% by the end of fiscal 2026.
30 new vehicle models to be launched over the next three years
Nissan will launch 30 new vehicle models over the next three years, of which 16 will be electrified and 14 will be ICE (internal combustion engine) vehicles, creating a balanced portfolio to meet diverse customer needs and the differing pace of electrification in each market. Between fiscal 2024 and fiscal 2030, a total of 34 electrified vehicles will be launched to cover all segments, with the global electrified vehicle model mix expected to reach 40% in fiscal 2026 and 60% in fiscal 2030.
