About Mitsuoka Motors’ new Ryugi
“It is a model that combines a classic look with cutting-edge technology and environmental performance,” the company explains. The Ryugi is based on Toyota’s Corolla Axio and Corolla Fielder. Characterized by Mitsuoka’s classic appearance, the Ryugi takes its name from the Japanese word “ryugi,” which means “one’s own way of doing things, their own style.” All production is done by hand by craftsmen. It is a medium-class sedan positioned between the compact sedan Viewt and the full-size sedan Galieu. The front mask is equipped with a chrome-plated vertical grille and round headlights.

It is 150mm longer than Toyota’s Corolla Axio and weighs about 10kg more.
The interior is available with optional genuine leather seats in three colors. The front and rear bumpers, similarly plated, are thicker, giving the car a commanding presence despite being a medium-class vehicle. The emblem on the top of the grille is crafted from cloisonné. The engine is a Toyota 1NZ-FE 1.5L inline-four engine, a Toyota 1NZ-FXE 1.5L inline-four engine, and a 1LM electric motor. The car measures 4,510mm long, 1,695mm wide, 1,460mm high, and has a wheelbase of 2,600mm.
