Mitsubishi Motors Europe announced on April 24, 2024, that it will make major improvements to its compact SUV “ASX” for the European market, including a new front design and enhanced connectivity and safety features , and will begin selling the model in some European markets from June 2024.

The ASX is a two-row, five-seater compact SUV built on the CMF-B platform supplied by alliance partner Renault on an OEM basis, and went on sale in Europe in March 2023.

This major improvement has resulted in a completely redesigned front fascia for the new ASX, giving it a sophisticated and modern design. Furthermore, the addition of connected and safety features has improved convenience and safety. Production of the new model will begin at Renault’s Valladolid plant in Spain in May 2024.

New “ASX” significantly improved exterior

The new ASX features a completely redesigned front face to further emphasize Mitsubishi Motors’ Dynamic Shield design identity. The center of the bumper is boldly blacked out, and a satin silver grille motif is incorporated to create a three-dimensional, deep impression, creating a dynamic and robust impression. The LED headlights combine an L-shape with a slit design to create a sophisticated, modern impression. Furthermore, new 18-inch black aluminum wheels with a diamond-cut finish are adopted, expressing sporty strength.

New “ASX” significantly improved interior

As the first car equipped with Google, it utilizes Google Assistant, Google Maps, and Google Play, allowing voice control, navigation, and the use of apps. In addition, the newly developed mobile app “My Mitsubishi Motors” supports functions such as checking parking locations, improving usability.

The car comes equipped with a wide range of safety features, including park assist, around-view monitor, and a reverse crossing vehicle detection warning system, enhancing safety and convenience when parking.

New “ASX” significantly improved powertrain

The lineup includes a hybrid EV (HEV) model, a mild hybrid model, and a gasoline engine model. The HEV model introduces a new “E-Save” mode that optimally manages the remaining battery level to support EV driving and assisted driving. Other models available include a 1.3L direct injection gasoline turbo engine and a 1.0L gasoline turbo engine.
